C4C Mobile, the company behind a new virtual mobile network, powered by 02, is the latest growing story at Discovery Park – with new partnerships helping to bring national attention to this innovative fund raising platform.

Discovery Park has agreed to become a sponsor of the company, which in addition to raising money for good causes is offering numerous on-site training opportunities for young people.

The support, provided by one of Europe’s leading science, technology and business enterprise business parks, is in recognition of both the company’s work raising money for charity, and its contribution to helping to build skills among the next generation.

Three students from Canterbury Christ Church University are the latest to benefit, beginning a 12 week placement that will result in a website, logo and branding for a new SIM card sharing product called ‘Your SIM Pal.’

It follows the launch of a partnership between C4C Mobile and Chris’s Cancer Community, which provides a range of support for people living with cancer.

Currently, just by switching to C4C Mobile and supporting Chris’s Cancer Trust, 10% of your monthly bill spend will help those affected by cancer. ‘Your Sim Pal’ will be an extension of this service, with a launch date only a few months away.

The feeling of isolation and a decrease in income are two things that can affect the lives of people affected by cancer. The partnership initiative will include the donation of handsets and airtime, helping people to stay in touch with their friends and loved ones.

Blair Papworth, the founder of C4C Mobile, said: “Without the support of Discovery Park and organisations like Canterbury Christ Church University we wouldn’t have got to where we are today.

“This is an exciting time for us as we embark on the first of our charity partnerships. Our expansion into bigger offices is a sign of how far we’ve come over the past three and a half years.

“This project is about supporting great causes and giving opportunities to young people so they build skills and share in our success. We’ve just got started, the best is yet to come.”

Kimberley Anderson, Corporate Relations Manager, Discovery Park, said: “In C4C Mobile we have a company which is not only passionate about raising money for good causes, but is also giving young people a route to future employment success. We’re delighted to support their work and wish them every success.”
