Allied International UK, a worldwide leader in the production of pipe fittings, is expanding to Tees Valley Enterprise Zone.

Their expansion sees the Kirkleatham Business Park almost fully occupied, with Allied moving into one of the last two remaining buildings with Enterprise Zone status at the end of September.

Peter Duncan, managing director of Allied International UK, said:

“The savings offered by the Kirkleatham Enterprise Zone made the case for moving to Redcar very compelling.”

Allied’s move into Tees Valley shows the company’s growth potential and desire to tap into the established on and offshore renewable and petro-chemical industry in the area.

The new premises will initially house a full range of linepipe, buttweld fittings and flanges in carbon and stainless steels, expanding to duplex and alloy grades in 2014.

Tim Carter, associate partner at Sanderson Weatherall, added:

“There were a number of sites which might have suited Allied’s needs, but the benefits of the Enterprise Zone tied in perfectly with the business and what it wanted to achieve.”
