Developers have unveiled plans for a new £25 million business park on the site of Hull’s former maternity hospital that will help attract new business from the renewable energy sector to the area.

The park, called Kingston Parklands, will be focused on the renewable energy sector and will further strengthen the Humber region’s recognition as the Energy Estuary. The development will provide accommodation, research and development facilities as well as high tech warehouses with solar roofs.

Once fully developed, Kingston Parklands will accommodate around 500 jobs and is set to breathe new life into the former maternity hospital site. The 11 acre park will include a major, 42,000 sq ft feature building, offering flexible space to let to businesses.

The former Hull Maternity Hospital site is one of 13 areas in the Humber Estuary granted Enterprise Zone status by government. Businesses setting up in the park will be able to benefit from simplified planning and tax breaks.
