Sci-Tech Daresbury’s flagship Enterprise Zone development, Vanguard House, is now almost 70 percent full after welcoming its latest tenant – Cash Management Solutions (CMS).

CMS, a company which specialises in forecasting and managing cash and currency for its clients, is the 14th business to take up residence at Vanguard House. The company manages circa £15 billion in cash annually, across 20,000 sites, in 25 countries around the globe and has set up its UK base at Sci-Tech Daresbury following recent growth.

The business’ highly skilled team of mathematicians manages cash and currency for a global client roster which includes Travelex, BP, McDonald’s and Cardtronics (the largest ATM provider in the world). The company has moved 25 staff into its new 2,600 sq ft offices.

Andrea Donafee, Managing Director of CMS, said:

“We’re delighted with the move to Sci-Tech Daresbury and with our new offices at Vanguard House. This is a site where open innovation and ingenuity in business is really encouraged and promoted – which is an approach very much in keeping with our own ethos.

“CMS is experiencing sustained growth on a global scale and we felt that Sci-Tech Daresbury was the perfect location for us. The site’s focus on high-quality, high-tech businesses is notable and offers the right sort of environment and facilities for a company like ours which has a global focus and a commitment to offering the best service possible to our clients.”

The building, which is the first on the campus to take on Enterprise Zone status, has been in high demand from companies expanding on site and those moving to the campus from other locations. The development’s Enterprise Zone status means that tenants enjoy associated benefits including eligibility for business rates relief.

John Leake, business development manager at Sci-Tech Daresbury, said:

“CMS’s arrival highlights Sci-Tech Daresbury’s continuing ability to attract high-tech, high-quality, globally-focused businesses and we’re delighted to welcome them to the site. In particular, a company of CMS’s pedigree in the development and application of algorithm-based solutions is a great complement to the high performance computing capabilities on site.

“Locating to an Enterprise Zone allows companies to take advantage of various benefits, including discounted business rates. We are looking forward to seeing more companies like CMS relocating to Vanguard House – attracted by our state-of-the-art facilities, brilliant network, and strong culture of collaboration and innovation.”

Enterprise Zone status allows business rates to be reinvested in the campus to provide important new campus support infrastructure and specialist office, laboratory and technical space.
