Custom made transport links to Manchester Airport City Enterprise Zone

Residents and workers will now be able to travel directly from their doorstep to their workplace in the Manchester Airport City Enterprise Zone following the announcement of a new 24 hour customised bus service.

This new Local Link Service is part of Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM) Lets Get to work package of measures that uses government funding to fill much needed gaps in existing public transport services.

This is a great example of local partners coming together to improve and integrate the infrastructure and services in order to support the Enterprise Zone and encourage further development and investment within the Zone.

It gives greater access to the Zone for a skilled workforce, and sends a wider message to potential investors that the Enterprise Zone is accessible. It aims to bring people, jobs and enterprise together with a well-connected, integrated and greener transport system.

This follows last week’s £20m cycling announcement from TfGM on building a new network of cycle routes that links the Enterprise Zone to the city.
