Hertfordshire Enviro-Tech

Delivering high quality and sustainable employment space for business, that doesn’t cost the earth

Centres of Excellence:

The creative force behind the Enterprise Zone comes from two relatively small sites – one at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and the second at Rothamsted Research.  Harnessing past investments and world class expertise in agritech and the built environment; these will be focused on new enterprises with a high knowledge content in environmental technologies.

Space to Grow:

In parallel, we will advance early developments in key sites within the Maylands Business Park, all off which have planning permission in place.  These new sites will be of interest to a mix of firms, some large and some small – including some that require “move-on space”. , either from the existing Maylands Business Centre or from the incubator sites within our Enterprise Zone at BRE and Rothamsted.

Later, a further site – owned by Crown Land – can come forward.  The Crown land is in Green Belt identified in the St Albans consultation draft Strategic Local Plan for economic development and still subject to the Local Plan process.
