Lancashire Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Enterprise Zone

A world class opportunity for advanced engineering and manufacturing at the heart of the United Kingdom

A History of Innovation:

With a rich history of over 100 years of aviation innovation and as part of the Northern Powerhouse, the Lancashire Enterprise Zone will be home to the BAE Systems Training Academy, which will inspire a new generation of innovative manufacturers, technologists and engineers. Construction of the Academy is currently underway on the Samlesbury site with completion due Autumn 2016. A Defence Logistics facility is also under construction at the Samlesbury site and 2 new tenants moved onto the Warton EZ site in 2015.

A Future in Innovation:

We are seeking suitable companies to locate alongside BAE System’s Military Air and Information Division, which has developed some of the most advanced engineering and manufacturing capability anywhere in the world.

Opportunities in the civil aviation field and the truck and yellow goods sector are available within easy reach of the Enterprise Zones.

There is a renaissance within the automotive industry and engine components, test facilities and research & development have opportunities that can complement the capabilities here in Lancashire.

Superb Infrastructure:

Both sites are a short distance from the M6 and have fully serviced facilities, including suitable power, gas and drainage.

Samlesbury has a new site entrance from the A59 and a new public highway through the site is under construction with a dedicated access point from the A677.

Connectivity around Lancashire is being improved with Growth Deal and City Deal monies developing infrastructure over a 10 year period.  A new junction on the M55, a new link road to the Port of Heysham, Broughton bypass and connectivity into Preston from the M65 are all currently underway. Connectivity to all of the major Northern cities, Manchester Airport and Liverpool Superport are currently available through proximity to the national motorway network and rail network.
